We love to sleep in the cold!

Why managing rental properties remotely introduces new risks

I’ve spent years getting up in the middle of the night for morning radio, so I know a thing or two about trying to get a decent night’s sleep. If you’ve ever woken up at 2:00 in the morning because your bedroom suddenly feels like a sauna, you’re definitely not alone. A new nationwide sleep study found that room temperature is the biggest thing keeping people awake, and most folks say the ideal thermostat setting is right around 67 degrees!

That sounds great on paper...but this is Florida. Down here, a lot of us need more than just the AC. Nearly half of Southerners sleep with a fan running year-round, and honestly, I totally get it. Sometimes the white noise is just as important as the cool air. The study also found that thermostat arguments are one of the biggest causes of bedtime battles, with more than one in five couples admitting they regularly disagree about where the temperature should be set. Some have even given up and started using separate blankets.

Whether you’re “Team 65 Degrees” or “Team Don’t Touch My Thermostat,” getting a good night’s sleep in the middle of a Duval summer can feel like its own full-time job. If you’ve found the perfect bedroom setup, don’t change a thing!
