Get ready to dance your way into the holiday season!
A Celtic Christmas by A Taste of Ireland is bringing its five-star Irish Christmas show to Jacksonville this November:
The international Irish dance company will take the stage at the Jacksonville Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, November 14, at 7:30 p.m. The show features World Champion Irish dancers, including performers who have starred in Riverdance and Lord of the Dance.
The festive production combines breathtaking Irish dancing, live music, storytelling, comedy, and traditional Irish pub songs for a holiday celebration the whole family can enjoy.
The show begins in a cozy Irish pub at Christmas, where audiences are invited to become part of the festivities. From high-energy jigs and reels to live tap battles and sing-alongs, the performance brings the spirit of an Irish Christmas to life.
At the heart of the show is a holiday love story about a young man from Tyrone and a spirited woman from a wealthy family in Athenry. After a chance meeting under the mistletoe, the pair find themselves navigating a series of challenges before reuniting for a grand Christmas ball.
The production features World Champions Mary Conway and Clara Sheppard, along with six-time World Champion Barry Teague and a full company of champion Irish dancers, singers, and live musicians. Casting is subject to change.
Director and producer Brent Pace says the show is designed to make audiences feel like they’re part of the celebration, rather than simply watching from their seats. By the end of the performance, the entire theater may find itself singing along.
