If you were holding out hope that Alex Van Halen and Sammy Hagar had quietly buried the hatchet somewhere along the way, you might want to stop. Alex was recently asked about Sammy’s 2011 autobiography, Red: My Uncensored Life in Rock, and let’s just say he didn’t exactly offer a glowing book review.

Alex gave a new interview to Brazil’s Roadie Crew magazine. As you might have expecting, there was no ambiguity. No carefully worded PR statement. No diplomacy. Just Alex Van Halen telling us exactly how he feels about the guy who fronted Van Halen for more than a decade.

The two have reportedly not spoken in more than 20 years, and Sammy has previously suggested that some of the things he wrote about Eddie and Alex in his book may have contributed to the fallout.
Whatever happened, it doesn’t sound like either guy is rushing to meet up for lunch anytime soon. For anyone still hoping for some kind of Van Halen reunion...yeah...maybe don’t hold your breath.
