Stella Artois is “pouring it forward.”
With the novel coronavirus pandemic wreaking havoc on the service industry, the Belgian brewer took a cue from an Ohio patron’s generosity and launched its “Unsung Hero Giveaway” on Wednesday, WJW reported.
The company is asking people to nominate their favorite bartenders and servers through 5 p.m. Dec. 1 by tagging the deserving candidate in a post on Facebook or Twitter using the hashtag #StellaUnsungHeroGiveaway. The lucky winner, who must be at least 21 years old, will receive $6,000 from the company.
The brewer unveiled the giveaway days after a Cleveland Heights, Ohio, restaurant went viral when an anonymous patron left the Nighttown’s owner a $3,000 tip on a single, $7 Stella Artois to split between the four wait staff working their last shifts before the establishment closed due to COVID-19 precautions.
