However, one person took the joyous moment a little too far, according to the Kansas City Police Department. Detectives in Missouri said a man used a stolen identity to buy a $58,000 Ford Explorer -- and then posed for a photo with his new purchase at the dealership, KMBC reported.

The KCPD took to social media on Tuesday to try to identify the thief, who bought the SUV from Thoroughbred Ford on July 23, 2020.

Detectives with the Kansas City, Missouri, police department posted to Stolen KC group on Facebook, a page that helps spread the word about thefts in communities in the Kansas City metro area.

The man was identified within an hour of the KCPD post, KMBC reported.

According to police, the man is already in custody in Kansas on different charges, the television station reported.

The suspect, who has not been identified, will be charged by local prosecutors for the vehicle theft, KMBC reported.
