ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — UPDATE 4:23 PM: The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office (SJSO) announced SJSO SWAT and Crisis Negotiation teams took the suspect into custody for evaluation without incident.
All lanes of I-95 have reopened.
ORIGINAL STORY: The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office (SJSO) said it is on the scene of an active investigation on Interstate 95 at mile marker 321. SJSO says they are in contact with an armed subject experiencing mental health issues.
Authorities say the north and southbound lanes of I-95 are shut down at this time. This is just north of the State Road 16 exit.
Traffic is being diverted at IGP/ I-95 and SR 16/ I95.
