The City of Jacksonville’s stimulus relief application website went up at 10 a.m., however it didn’t go up without a few hitches.
WOKV heard from several people saying that the phone lines and website were busy. The city did say that it is dealing with a high volume of people and asking everyone to keep trying and be patient.
The city tweeted that in the first hour, 20,000 appointments were booked. They also stated that all spots will be booked within the next hour.
One tip the city did give when dealing with the website is to not refresh the screen. Keep the page open until it loads.
To qualify for the $1,000 payment, have to be a Duval County resident, make $75,000 or less, and have lost more than 25 percent or more in income due to COVID-19. You have to make an appointment online, or if you don’t have internet access to call 904-630-2489, and receive a confirmation number.
Appointments are being scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis and this relief fund is only available to 40,000 households. Once the appointments are filled the system will not accept any more applicants.
To apply for the remaining spots, the website is www.jaxrelief.coj.net or call 904-630-CITY.
