Watch A Newly Done Video For Tom Petty’s “Drivin’ Down To Georgia”

I was lucky enough to catch Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers live a large number of times over the years.

At a lot of those shows, I caught Tom playing songs he hadn’t released yet.

One of those songs was “Drivin’ Down To Georgia”.

One of the discs included in the super deluxe “Wildflowers” reissue, “Finding Wildflowers” included a previously unreleased studio version of the song.

A version of the song recorded live in 1993 was released on “The Live Anthology”.

On the “Wildflowers Live” disc of the “Wildflowers” reissue there is a version of the song recorded in 2010.

On May 6th, 2021 a video was released to go along with the newly released studio version of the song.

The video was directed by Alison Tavel and features archival footage of Petty by Martyn Atkins and Heartbreaker’s bassist Ron Blair.
