Races: Marathon, Half Marathon
For many years Gainesville, Florida has been known as one of the premier running capitals of the world. But since the early 80's, there has been no marathon in our community. In 2006, the first Five Points of Life Marathon showcased our great lifesaving community and our great running community.
People of all fitness levels are encouraged to train for the half (13.1 miles) or whole (26.2 miles) marathon. Donors or recipients of life-saving donations (blood, apheresis, bone marrow, cord blood, organ & tissue) are contacted through both local and national donor organizations and invited to join the Five Points of Life Marathon.
