The University of Florida School of Theatre and Dance will hold a five-day workshop designed to teach students the skills to create improvised scenes. This intensive will give participants the same kind of Chicago-style training taken by generations of comic performers including the casts of Saturday Night Live, The Office, Whose Line Is It Anyway, as well as writers for television shows and comedy films. Improvisation is beneficial for performers of any level seeking to challenge themselves and broaden their skills but it is just as valuable for non-performers. Students of business and law have found that it develops strong focus, better listening, thinking on your feet, creativity, team-building, and fearlessness. Open to UF students and non-students age 16 and over. Enrollment is limited.McGuire Pavilion Studio G-15, $175.
