Florida State College at Jacksonville will be hosting 4 summer camps this year at its Advanced Technology Center location downtown - 401 West State Street, Jacksonville, FL 32202.  The summer camp dates are listed as follows:COMPUTER Summer Camp - June 17-21, 2013ENERGY Summer Camp - June 17-21, 2013ENERGY Summer Camp - June 24-28, 2013COMPUTER Summer Camp - July 8-12, 2013*********************************************************************************************ENERGY Summer CampThe purpose of the camp is to introduce young people to Green Technology and the careers that support the new technologies. The camp will be based on several projects including Air, Water and Energy. Starting with fundamentals of how things work, through understanding the six simple machines, the projects will immediately move into kits utilizing green energy (solar kits, wind kits and hydrogen kits), water treatment (filtering systems, collection and recycling systems) of production, and air quality (air testing, humidity, and the importance of air and your health). A prime motive within each days lesson plans is to have students engage their parents in discussion and how they can work together to make the world a bit greener.COMPUTER Summer CampThis will be a super fun summer camp focusing on NETWORK VIRTUALIZATION!  The emphasis will be on educational opportunities to train as a Network Virtualization engineer.  The students will be trained in Virtual Desktop Infrastructure setup using Citrix VDI-in-a-Box.  The students will also have the opportunity to visit a network virtualization data center.*********************************************************************************************Time: 8:00 AM- 4:30 PMAges: 9th, 10th, and 11th grade studentsDrop Off: Campers will meet in the north foyer of the Advanced Technology Center, 401 West State Street, Jacksonville, FL 32202. The building is located at the intersection of Pearl and State Streets. Camp will begin promptly at 8 AM each day. Someone will be available at 7:30 AM to accept your child. Please be sure that your child is on time.Dress: Be sure that your child is dressed appropriately for the activities in which he or she will be involved. The building gets cold occasionally, so a light jacket or sweater is a good idea.Cost: FREELunch: Lunch is providedPick Up: We ask that you pick up your child by 4:30 PM each day from the Advanced Technology Center. We will not release your child until you arrive.
