Location: Harn Museum SA+AH Harn Eminent Scholar Chair in Art History presents a lecture by Charlie Gere, Lancaster University, UK.Einstein famously described the computer as the “information bomb,” the second of three bombs, following the atomic bomb and preceding the demographic bomb. The information bomb most threatens literature, as literature is self-referential, unlike, for example, science. As we archive our cultural production in digital form, we are threatened by its remainderless destruction; this possibility should govern our discussion of digital creation. For further information please contact Dr. Craig Smith, School of Art and Art History (c.smith@ufl.edu)
