Stage Aurora presents “Eating Alabama” with Director and Producer Andrew Grace

Stage Aurora Theatrical Company along with Southern Arts, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts presents “Eating Alabama” with Director and Producer, Andrew Grace as part of the South Arts Southern Circuit Tour of Independent Filmmakers at Stage Aurora Performance Hall. on February 23, 2013 at 1pm. Following a screening of his feature film, “Eating Alabama,” Rowe and the audience will engage in a discussion about the film and his work as a filmmaker.
In search of a simpler life, a young couple returns home to Alabama where they set out to eat the way their grandparents did – locally and seasonally. But as they navigate the agro-industrial gastronomical complex, they soon realize that nearly everything about the food system has changed since the time when farmers populated their family histories. A thoughtful and often funny essay on community, the South and sustainability, “Eating Alabama” is a story about why food matters”.
The Southern Circuit Tour of Independent Filmmakers is a program of South Arts. Southern Circuit screenings are funded in part by a grant from South Arts in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
