MISSION & OBJECTIVE
Cinema Verde, an Environmental Film and Arts Festival in Gainesville, Florida, was created to raise awareness of environmental issues through the arts. We will hold our fourth annual festival in February 2013. Cinema Verde’s mission is to provide environmental education to the public through film, arts, workshops, events, tours and any other forum or media; to increase public awareness of environmental practices that enhance public health and improve quality of life in urban, suburban and rural settings. We bring community organizations, businesses and citizens together to help forge sustainable solutions for our future. We utilize a multi-disciplinary program of film, music, art, workshops, an eco-fair and eco-tours to connect participants with green initiatives in business, government and organizations seeking to solve environmental problems. Our vision is to expand the reach of environmental information to inspire, educate and engage participants in sustainable business and lifestyle solutions.
Cinema Verde is a not-for-profit environmental film festival produced by www.GoGreenNation.org to help build sustainable communities. Cinema Verde is funded in part by a Tourist Development Tax Grant from the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners in conjunction with the Alachua County Tourist Development Council. We welcome sponsorship inquiries and support!
Cinema Verde is pleased to accept submissions through Withoutabox for this year's festival. For more information please visit www.cinemaverde.org.
