Holiday shoppers, families and visitors are welcome to celebrate Holiday Spectacular presented by St. Vincent’s HealthCare, Jacksonville’s first tree lighting of the season, at St. Johns Town Center on Saturday, Nov. 17! Holiday Spectacular is a full day of free festivities topped off with a tree lighting and evening fireworks show. Retailers at St. Johns Town Center will also offer holiday shopping opportunities, in-store promotions and specials throughout the weekend. Holiday Spectacular will be open to the public and will offer family-friendly activities and holiday traditions. Visitors will enjoy new features to this annual event including a sledding hill and a winter wonderland featuring 60 tons of snow! Additionally, face painters, costumed characters from WJCT and carolers will spread holiday cheer throughout the day in the Kids’ Entertainment Zone sponsored by Pollo Tropical. This year, Holiday Spectacular will feature event headliner Bridgit Mendler, star of the Disney Channel original series Good Luck Charlie! Her dynamic live performance is sure to please fans of all ages. Main stage entertainment will begin at 6 p.m.in front of Park Green. Stage sponsors include The Blood Alliance, Southeast Toyota Distributors, RadioNOW 97.9 and Sight & Sound Productions. Immediately following Bridgit Mendler’s performance, Santa will lead the audience in an official countdown sponsored by OMEGA to light the dazzling 32-foot tree and kick off an energetic fireworks finale. Then, Santa will head to the Santa House near Dick’s Sporting Goods to hear children’s holiday wish lists.
