This Fish Health Management workshop is open to the public, and is specifically intended for indiviuals who have an interest in or are currently culturing fish in ponds or tanks. University of Florida/IFAS Extension specialists will provide lectures on fish biology and physiology, fish health management principles, water quality, biosecurity, infectious diseases of fish and fish disease treatments. Hands-on labs include water chemistry testing, fish anatomy and necropsy and how to check for fish parasites.The workshop will be held on October 11 and 12, 2012 from 8:30 am to 5 pm each day at the Center for Marine Studies at the University of Florida's Whitney Laboratory for Marine Biosciences in the town of Marineland.A registration fee of $90 covers the cost of lunches and participant's materials. Note that a processing fee of $5.49 will be added to online credit card payments. Advance registration is required by October 8.
